About Conrad Van Cottonmouth
Conrad Van Cottonmouth is an indie comic series about a girl, a rabbit, and a story that quickly grows into something much bigger than it first appears.
What begins as a strange encounter turns into an unpredictable journey filled with unexpected places, shifting rules, and consequences that do not stay small for long.
At its core, the series blends humor, mystery, and a sense that there is always more going on beneath the surface.
About the Creator
I am Michael Connors, the creator behind Conrad Van Cottonmouth.
A New Jersey native turned digital artist and comic connoisseur, I started out doodling superheroes at 12, eventually studied academic drawing, and somehow found my way into the world of digital production for advertising agencies.
After years living in New York City and a move to Princeton in 2020, I returned to my roots, combining traditional art fundamentals with a love for comic storytelling and more thoughtful narratives.
Conrad Van Cottonmouth grew out of that process. It began as a simple idea that kept expanding the more I worked on it, turning into a world I wanted to keep exploring. I write, illustrate, and publish everything independently, building the story one chapter at a time.
Because who says you cannot be a corporate sell out and still have a superhero alter ego?
The Process
Each issue begins as rough sketches and small ideas that slowly take shape through thumbnails, pencils, inks, and color.
The goal is always the same. Create pages that feel alive, where the characters, pacing, and visuals work together to pull you into the story.
What you see on the page is the result of that process, built step by step from the first sketch to the final artwork.
